Carriage Driver Is Accused of Abusing a Sick, Elderly Horse — Until it Collapsed on N.Y.C. Street and Later Died

The criminal trial against a longtime New York City carriage driver began Tuesday to determine whether he committed animal cruelty in pushing an elderly horse too far on a hot summer day in August 2022.
