A California Highway Patrol officer was trapped in their vehicle after a crash with a semi-truck on Highway 59 near Turlock Road in Merced County this morning. Firefighters had to extract the officer, who was airlifted to a hospital. The officer’s condition is unknown and the cause of the crash is unclear. Highway 59 northbound is closed at Turlock Road.
